I'm new to this part of Texas and was wondering if theirs any good places to fish around Canyon Lake, because it's such a nice area.

Any good fishing holes around/in San Marcos also?

The San Marcos River has lots of different kinds of fish in it.
The Guadalupe River has trout and smallmouth below the Canyon Dam, sunnies and guad bass above the lake.
The Blanco River has bass, sunnies, rio grande perch, cats, etc.
And don't overlook Canyon Lake itself.

That area abounds with good fishing!
