I have tried a couple DOAs. I have a green and pink and a solid grey. I have not had any luck with them. But I have heard people brag about them.

Rootbeer DOA shrimp is the only lure you ever need.

The DOA seems to be falling behind the Gulp shrimp in popularity these days. I've used both, but have had better luck with gulp for some reason. Maybe I'm not working the DOA right, I don't know. JMO

well ive had no luck with either DOA or Gulp,, but thats cuz im a dutz with artificials lol

I ran out of live bait last week at texas city, and cut the gulp 4" shrimp in half and put it on a hook under a cork and caught trout...without giving it any action! Made a believer outta me.

DOA's work well. I've used them under a popping cork for trout. Only problem is, seems like I've got alot of DOA replacements but no weights for them.

I never thought of putting the DOA under a popping cork, nor with Gulp. Sounds good.

You've been missing out.

Also, I dip my DOA baits in the Gulp! liquid.
Don't know if it really helps ... but I think it's worked.

Clear Glitter is another killer.

I prefer to buy the body kits, instead of the pre-rigged DOAs. put them on a 1/8 oz jig head. There is a hole just above the weight area on the DOA's that PERFECT for a 3mm glass rattle.

Cast out, and basically freeline it. move it only when needed. Fish it under a popping cork. There really isn't a wrong way to fish one. If the birds are working, move it fast along the surface, in the marsh drains and cuts, fish it slow along the bottom.

Its dark amber brown with gold fleck...gulp works well for numbers of fish...but I am partial to the DOA shrimp for bigger smarter fish...

here in texas..because the water is usually pretty murky...a rattle placed inside is a necesity...

the DOAs catch less trash fish..just fish is really slow with violent "flicks" every once in a while to make it look like a shrimp and to clear off the grass.

DOA under a cork will often outfish GULP, especially when the fish want the 'slow fall' of the lure. I fish GULP and DOAs often and never make a trip without a good supply of each. When fishing the DOA under a cork, allow the DOA to settle under the cork with a pause of 10 seconds or so after a couple of pops of the cork, as you can work it too fast in certain situations. Many colors of each depending on water clarity. Good luck.
