1. Load your photos to a site that will host them. There are many to choose from. A few are http://www.flickr.com - http://www.photobucket.com - http://www.myfishingpictures.com.2. Once your photos are on a web site go to the page where they are displayed. Put your mouse arrow over the photo and right click. A “Properties” box will appear. Highlight the address or URL and copy it. Use the “Edit” tab at the top of your browser, then drop down to “Copy,” or right click and copy. See this image for example: 3. When you want to post the photo, do what you normally do to make a post. Where you want the photo, insert this code: . Leave out any spaces – the spaces were placed so you could view the code. 4. Hit submit and your photo should display.

Unless you have a paid account at yahoo you won't be able to link your pictures to forums. They create a file name that is incompatable with phpbb and ubb software and you'll only be successful in posting a little red x. The free photo sites that I have had the best luck with are: www.photobucket.com and www.webshots.com

You have to delete everything past jpg in the photo properties in order for it to show up.

Most web images are saved as .jpg or .gif. The .jpg are better for photos. My rule of thumb when loading a photo for viewing on this or any other forum is no taller or wider than 600 pixels. Also, bear in mind that screen resolution is 72dpi. Higher resolution for screen viewing is not noticeable.

If anyone knows other good sites to host photos, please post them. Also, if you have suggestions to help people better understand the process for posting photos on this site, please chime in.

http://groups.msn.com is a good site for anyone who already has a hotmail email address. I started my own site there apart from the TFF group site, easy access straight from hotmail. David C.

Almost everybody gets free personal webspace included with their internet package from their ISP. Most people never use it. But you can easily post on your own webpage using the webpage wizards that are often provided. Check it out.

You have to down size your pictures on your computer before you save them. Some programs have these options and others do not. But if your pics are real big, then I would say that you more than likly have that option. Click on format, and see if there is a down size option there.

You need to use some kind of photo editing software that will enable you to adjust the pixel per inch of the picture to around 72 ppi.
Even the best monitors cannot display more than 125 ppi if memory serves me. Of course with the rapid technology improvements I could be wrong about that. But if the ppi of a picture is higher than the monitor is capable of the image will just be produced using the so designated amount of pixels (for the images width X Length), even though it must then be a larger...or sometimes huge picture.
You probably have some kinds photo editing software bundled with your system such as microsoft photo editor or an adobe photoshop program. If not there are some pretty decent freeware programs that can be downloaded to accomplish this task.
You would merely need to open the tab in the program that said to adjust image size - look for , or click on pixels per inch and set to 70 to 100 ppi. Make sure the box that says to constrain or maintain proportion 100% is checked. Then save the file as a jpeg image.
hope this helps.
