Any tips on how to catch the crappie on Texoma (other than fishing brians slip)? I plan on fishing the big mineral end of the lake. What depth should I concentrate on and should I be looking mainlake or in the coves. Just tring to get a starting point. If anyone wants to show me a few tricks on the big lake I will gladly offer up a back seat.

Thanks
Chris

You should have an easy time finding b/p's on Texoma.
Look in coves, off points, and just about anywhere from 5 to 30 ft. deep off of any shoreline.
I assume that you have electronics on your boat and know what to look for.

Brushpiles in the 15-20 ft range should be loaded.

Well I fished from 7:30 till 2:30 and ended the day with 3 large crappie, 2 striper, 1 warmouth, 1 largemouth and a drum. I did manage to hang up about a dozen jigs. I had zero luck on the brushpiles for crappie. The three i caught were shooting docks east of highport. I still have alot to learn on locating crappie on Texoma. If anyone with some Texoma experince that wouldn't mind showing me around would like to go fishing sometime i'll supply everything but the fish.

I fished again this saturday and had a little more luck. I got 10 off of mainlake brushpiles, all on jigs. I caught most of them on orange - chart - orange jigs and a couple on chart - brown - blue. None of the piles I found in the coves produced but the ones on the mainlake did. Slowly getting them figured out. The advice i have gotten off of here is helping alot. Thanks

I am making a trip up there friday and coming back saturday, to fish for striper on his boat. Do any of yall think I might get lucky and the crappie might be in the slip where he keeps his boat?
