Anyone fished this as of late? I'm thinking about wetting a line there but wondered if it was worth my time and what I could expect there.

I haven't fished it since they planted trout in the winter. Comorants were a problem as they chased the schooled up fish. I've caught one 1 lb bass out of there on a crankbait.

I fished that little dock area this morning for a couple of hours starting around 7. Used plastic worms: 3 small bass, 2 catfish. I'm new to the area and was the first time I've fished in TX. I don't know if the fishcount or size was about right, good or bad.

Let me know if you recommend other spots. I've got a 4 yr old who I'm introducing to fishing. Thx...

Fished there a while ago and got one bass close to the siting (rock benches) area. Was using a small spinnerbait. Nothing more after that.

Tonight I got off work early, the wife/kids were gone, and so I decided to try the north pond at Keller Town Hall. It's the one by the apartments and just south of 1709.

Suprisingly, I caught a fat 19" LMB off a buzzbait. Caught two others -- a dink and 14". I didn't know there was decent fish in there. I'd guess the 19" was about (or just shy of 4#). I don't carry a scale, but I've got one of those tape rulers on my rod so at least I know the length.

Good luck...

Went today, maybe the time was wrong since it was early afternoon and hotter than it has been but there wasn't anything biting. I caught a tiny lmb about 1# or so and that was it for the day. I saw a couple good size guys jumpin but not biting. I wanna try to get to the other side with the dock... do you just tredge through the grass? And the guy I saw today with the bike, that is a sweet rig I need to build one of those!

thanks I'm gonna try in the morning. I went here tonight after work and there was something big in the water. It was movin across really quickly and as it got about halfway across the creek it slapped its tail really hard on the surface of the water and kept cruisin at a fast pace. I'm not familiar with Texas wildlife so it was probably somethin small and stupid but I was outta there! Any ideas on what it could be? beavers in north texas?

That's funny -- I know what you're talking about. They're not beavers but supposedly a rat that shares traits. I fish a pond at night close to town hall; one scared the !@#$% out of me my first encounter. Don't know what they're called and they're not where I'm from either. They slap their tail loudly.

There are actually 2 ponds at Keller Town Hall -- the big one that you're talking about and a little one on the other side of the street. The little one is better IMO. I've fished it twice and caught all by the end that feeds into the main pond.

Good luck...

I have seen Beavers around the area. Probably that's what you saw. Or maybe a Nutria but I am not sure if they are common in the area.
