Tx Park/Wildlife fishing report has said last 2 weeks that catfishin' was excellent on Ray Roberts, but no hints on where to go for them! Can anybody help?! Been doing real good catching sandies on mid lake humps, just need some help with the cats!

If you're catching sandies then you're in the right place for blues.

we usually drift with a santee cooper rig so the bait is off the bottom from 12 to 24 inches. if you are seeing big suspended fish below the sandbass drop a rig down to that depth cant hurt.

You can drift fish the flats up close to Culp Island with fresh cut shad if you can find them, they are hard for me to find on Ray Roberts, but if you can't catch any shad or bluegill, you can catch a lot of channel cats drifting out there with shrimp,
Just about anyplace you can find a flat with water that runs 14' - 35' will probably have some fish on it, You might try behind the dam to see if you can catch some shad, I went last week and didn't catch any, but they might be there now!!!

Good Luck to Ya!!!

When they are letting water out you can catch shad in the eddy below the dam usually behind the break wall.

Try the hayfield NE of Wolf Island. Usually boats there fishing for Whites. About 38 ft dept right now.

Yes Brushpile, most of the time when they are letting water out you can catch shad back there, then go fish in the lake!!!

+1 on shad below the spillway. You can also look near the marina close to the tires.

Shad are pretty easy on Ray Bob right now....partner and I took about 150 big gizzards to the Tawak Tourney from Ray Bob.

Look in the creeks....they will be there for another month or so.
