The elevation is right at 248 and rising, normal is 220. That should tell you not to waste your time. There is no crappie being caught on the lake. I have heard reports of a few (no limits) being taken below the dam. The release is 9800 cfs.
Hugo, Dequeen, Gilliam, Dierks and Millwood are all 12-20' high and no good crappie reports.
your better bet would b AGFC lakes that are not flood control lakes. I fished one on Tuesday. Caught only 4 crappie, but 1-2 lb 12 oz, 2-2 lb 4 oz, 1-1 lb 15 oz. Turned them back so they can help me change my name.
