I went north today and was very surprised to see so much water coming out of the river. It was the most current I have seen in a good while. I assume the gates are open with the water coming out of Ray Hubbard as well.

It definitely through me for a surprise this morning. I normally call and find out if the gates are open. Today my first sign was seeing the big mats of vegitation floating on the water before the powerlines. Definitely messed up my morning game plan. Left North and went South and managed 3 fish. Off the lake by 11:00. It sure was a nice morning though!

I was on Lavon mid-day today for a couple of hours.

The weather was awesome, not so much the fishing! bang

Lavon is getting a big flushing. They are washing all the Zebra mussels down to Hubbard.

I havent even tried the backs of creeks. My boat is alergic to muddy water.

Hit the main lake bushes and fish the bushes that are totally submerged just outside of the row that you see above the water. Run a spinner across the sucmerged tops or drop your favorite plastic around them. I was using a jig today.

The water is really clear, so you can see the fish slam your spinner.

I am sharing this since it wont last for long with the gates open.

Good luck, Tim

Cool, thanks very much! I pulled one that was a shade under 5lbs out of the back of a a creek last Saturday. I'll have to try it out a bit on Saturday and see how it goes.
