I pulled up to a mid-lake hump and found Paul and Baxter in a battle to the finish with a monster from the deep.

Baxter is in the back of the boat attending to the housekeeping duties.
We also caught a bazillion sand bass and one legal hybrid here.
Paul caught this one on a #41 from Moe's tackle shop that he modified by adding a treble hook in place of the assist hooks that are standard.

Not many things are more fun than catching a big flathead on a slab.

The hybrid activity has been spotty at best, caught 10 legal fish Monday, 4 Tuesday and 1 yesterday morning followed by 4 in the afternoon. Today it was all sand bass in the morning with 3 legal hybrids this evening.
They seem to have switched up on me and are hitting chrome slabs, like the #41 from Moe's and a Hopkins clone. I don't like to fish for hybrids with a small slab as I seem to get too many gill hook-ups.
