Can not wait I am ready to put some cold steel on the river fish. That floating Carolina Rig is doing awsome on the main river!!!!

was there this weekend didnt see many boats prefishing whats the deal, hope there will be a good turn out, this will be our 1st tbf top 6 tourn.

The lake is still very muddy from Pearl street up to Tin Top.

No there is not but when someone gets lucky and finds one, it is a good fish.....problem is, I don't know where to find it......

Looking at the long range forecast it looks like the water in Granbury might have a chance to clear up some between now and the 21st.

I'm looking forward to this tournament. I've never been on Granbury...never even seen it...but it should be fun.

looks about 6 in. low very muddy to stained to off color, if u put it right on there nose they will eat. did not go to river, by the way is there still going too be trailering allowed, even though the lake is full the river got very silted in a year or so ago

We will make that decision at the meeting friday night.

You can get into the river from the lake, I did it Sunday. Why anyone would want to is beyond me though. It looks like they are still letting water out of PK and there are a lot of floaters coming down the river. If you decide to go to the River, be extra careful. Don't know how anyone is going to have time to do that on Saturday and be back for the mandatory luncheon. I have a feeling Tebam is going to get an earful at the meeting over that decision.

anybody want to take a shot at the winning weights, if i understand the format right with 3 weigh ins i predict 50.lbs plus if the weather holds out it might take 70 lbs

I hope it takes closer to 70.

I'm thinking maybe 8 lbs average per boat in the morning, 5 lbs avg in the afternoon and 10 lbs avg per boat on Sunday.

If JL struggles it's probably going to be a long two days for me since I'm sharing the boat with him.

But...I guess we'll just show up and take our chances anyway!

Good luck on the smallmouth. Not many. Find out what your tourny rules are on spots. That you will have possibility of catching.

So is the limit 3 fish? I'm not in the tournament but I am following since this is my home lake. But you guys are talking about 8lbs per fish? If you find fish that big please pm me and let me know when where and how. If you are talking about a 5 fish limit at 24 lbs total at 4-5 lbs per fish, I can see that being a closer guess. Lets not forget this lake had a hard fish kill 2-3 years ago and the lake is on the rebound. I am not doggin any one's skills or knowledge, you guys most likely have better electronics and skills then I will ever have. I do wish the best of luck to all. Enjoy the town and watch out for the elderly drivers, much worse than the teenagers!

No! Each team will have three boats (6 people). I am saying each boat will average 8, 5, & 10 lbs.

Morning Session - Safe Light til noon
XXX Bass Club will have three boats (possibility of 15 fish) out there that will total 24 lbs.
Afternoon Session - 2:00 til 5:00
XXX Bass CLub will have (possibility of 15 more fish) 15 lbs total added to the 24 lbs from the morning
Sunday Session - 8:15 til 2:15
XXX Bass CLub will have (possibility of 15 fish) 30 lbs added to the previous 39 lbs for a total tournament weight by ALL 6 CLUB MEMBERS of 69 lbs.

Completely just a guess though.

went out this evening towards the dam and the water was clear and 66 degrees main body an 67 in coves.

wish i seen the post on the little tournament i would of been in on that one, wish i could fish your club tournament, be at the deer lease all that week. Fishing was great out there today..As of the weights it will be alot more then what ya'll say, 8-10lbs thats only a 2-3 per boat, catch a limmit and your way above that. 4-6 pounders have been bitting good the last 2 weeks out there...Good luck to all

You guys are making some big assumptions not fully knowing what the regs. will be for each session. Hehehe!!!!

I have a feeling a limit of 16inch Fish is going to be tough. What's the ruling on spots?

I have been told there are no size limits on the spots, every one is a keeper. Also, that the smallmouth is 14" limit. The TD and I will explain everything you need to know at the Friday night registration and meeting.

Okay, then I'll catch all the 12-13 inch spots and let Jeff catch the big fish. I'm apparently good at that. We fished Palestine this weekend and if we could have weighed 12 inch spots I would have had four or five limits.

Smallmouth? Did you say smallmouth? LOL.

Tom, thats a good idea. We know you cant catch big fish...i.e. Lake Palestine FOM in March 25.66lbs

Jeff will catch a big fish, and it will be on some random lure he's never used before. It's "Lucky Linville" for a reason. I dont care who catches what as long as TBC wins this deal!

I wish I was fishing this one too. You guys are going to have a lot of fun. I haven't made a TBF tournament since the first state qualifier on Limestone and I really enjoyed that one. Tom I think the only way I am going to be able to make it to another TBF tournament is if you start holding a "last 6 tournament"...I am afraid I would qualify for that one every time!

Jason, maybe you could get TBC to send more than one team!!! I know some clubs reward their top 6 anglers by paying for the Top 6 Championship. But maybe they would let you put a second team together and the guys pay their own way. Just an idea!

Yep Tom that is what we did for our top 6.

I actually couldn't get off work this Friday even if I had been first place in the club. This stinking job is getting in the way of my fishing! I need to do something about that.

brandon h come on really 9 keepers you remember that it a 16 inch min. right, our pattern didnt produce, caught 30 last week 4 this week

they were really on this past weekend compared to last weekend. Went up the river on saturday and was really catching them in that creek that runs off to the right..clear water...cauught 15 saturday with only 3 measuring. Tin Top on Sunday along with everyone else I think and caught about 12 with only 1 keeper. Guy nexxt to me caught a 5 pounder. They were prefishing your tournament and said they had a limit.

Yea i know what the lake limit is I fish the lake on a regular basis I only live 20min from there, have won my fair share of tournaments there fished 2 tournaments there this year and had 21.11 and 22.?? in the other.

The cold nights this week should shake things up a bit, but I don't think that they will be too far from where they were if you fished this past weekend.

Unfortunately, I will get no time on the water before the tournament, too many prep things to do on Friday, but I'm hoping my parner will get on some while he is prefishing!!

Headed to Granbury this afternoon to finish up details with our local tournament supporters. Guess I'll have a little time this afternoon to get out on the lake and pre fish!!! Just kidding all you guys thinkin' "thats not fair" Thats who the off limits is for, you guys thinking that!!!! Things are still coming together and hope this will be a good tournament for our guys in the TBF!!!!!

I would be happy to police the area for you this week.........and since I would be out there I may as well "pretend" to fish that way no one would know why I was out there ......and since I am "pretending" to fish if I were to "pretend" to catch one and it clued me into something that would be OK...... right? Just trying to be helpfull....

If you head on up there and do a little fishing you can go into the main river and through the floating carolina rig and catch all you want.

Well, you guys told me that way too late!!! But, I must say, the pulled pork sandwich from the Pearl Street Station was quite good!

Had a good afternoon there yesterday. Met with our contact at the tourism board, they will be furnishing us some hamburgers from "Grumps" I hear they are very good! Also met with the Marina owners, Getting all kinds of help from them!! They have an awesome set up there and it is only getting better. Also got our Sunday morning breakfast/devotional time set up too!!! Now, I'm hoping the fishing will measure up too!!! This will be a great event for competition and comradery and if the fish bite too, this one will be hard to beat.

Very cool. Our team is looking forward to it. It'll be our first time to enter.

GRUMPS has some darn good burgers!! Lake is in good shape...should be some good fish weighed in!

Ed and I are going to be staying at the Plantation Inn also.

Right now, plans are for lunch at the Marina. Looking at it Tuesday, I think we will have enough area to tie up and/or beach right across from the Marina and walk over the little bridge back to the marina. Sunday breakfast will be over by the ramp, a quick word, and a burrito.

I'll be getting the results posted soon!! Just getting back home. 1st was Granbury Working men. 83+ lbs.

2nd was Bass Chumps bass club (Giddings/Austin)

3rd was Tarleton State bass club.

TBF will be posting the results on the website. I will post on the forum when they are up.

A couple of stats for you. Cash payback was alittle over 112%
Sponsor product give aways totaled about $3200.
Draw prizes totaled about $1600.

Not enough!

We had just under 30 lbs. That was only about 53 pounds short of the win. LOL.

I know gotta199 and I boated 12 bass during the tournament. Almost all of them were over 14 inches, but none stretched to 16. The only fish our boat brought to the scales was a 15 inch Kentucky. Thank goodness Tom and Dennis made spots of any size legal.

Actually I would have had close to 30 pounds prefishing Friday...but that included a catfish that weighed 23-1/2.

Must have all been caught on the south end of the lake, I did not see anyone around the 51 bridge.....
