So what's the answer - redistribution of wealth or let the guy with the most $$$ win ?
Go ahead, move this to the bunker......
I watched every minute.... How about the Walmart Family BUYING the Rangers? Pay the HIGHEST wages and GUARANTEEING a vicktree? David Glass a former president of WalMart owns the Kansas City Royals, see how that worked out. Who won two years ago, what was their salary level?

http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/salaries You look at how the bottom 10 teams on this list run their teams with some of the wealthiest owners in the league and it is pathetic. The Steinbrenners run the Yankees like it should be run.Maybe MLB should look more at potential owners that are not just owning a team for the fun of it while running another business. They are destined to attempt to do everything they can to put a winning team on the field FOR THE FANS every year no matter what the cost. They had a $26.9 million luxury tax in 2009,which is about 1/2 the payroll for some of the bottom 10 teams.I commend them for the product that they give to their fans.Think...if you own a business, dont you want the best product and the ability to make the most money?I know i would.I would not like to run a team out to the diamond every day knowing we are going to have a .300-.500 winning pct.because i don't want to spend the money.Congrats Yankees!Job well done.

You better check your facts. Stinky Steiny doen't even have to use much of his own money. His team plays out of the worlds biggest revenue base in the world. That's among the reason that it's not an even playing field. It's a huge joke that people think they are geniuses because they win so much. You really think Steinbrenner wins because he is a great baseball guy? He wins because he has the silver spoon right now and so will the next guy. And no it's not fair.

Weebs,It is not his fault at all that he owns a team that is based in New York.He is running it to win,not like a lot of other owners who are running them just say they own a team and don't go all out.The money he runs the team with is greatly based on sales of his teams products. One of the most recognized teams in the world. So is he not supposed to use this money? He puts it back into the team by signing players who can help the team win a championship.Putting money back in to your team or business to succeed.I see nothing wrong with that at all.

Weebs is right, and Bounty Hunter is right. It is what it is. But to suggest that they did not buy them a World Series is ridiculous. They got the top three free agents available last year. The top three! They did it because they could, and until the system changes it will do no good to complain about it. I personally would rather watch the A's vs. Reds. The only thing enticing me to watch the World Series was to hope that the Yankees would lose. Look stockpiling all the talent like they have doing in the last several years had to eventually bring them a championship. Baseball is a sinking ship, attendance was down, merchandising contracts were down, TV rating were awful this year (don't know about the WS ratings). They better think about changing things and soon....

The only part of game 6 i saw was when the national anthem was severely butchered. I cant believe they let people sing that song when they know they will hack it all to heck.
