I am new to catfishing in lakes but im gonna try it out this weekend at lake ivie. Any tips would be appreciated

Near river channel, 40 to 50' deep as I hear it from local guide stories, I know that dont sound normal, But the=at is where I am going. Pagitt Leday and Concho area.
