I like running rigs for method feeders, i always seem to have a better hook ups with running rigs.

I am sure it works, but I'd rather it to be above the lead for the added safety of not descaling the fish

I like bolt rigs but both work. I occasionally use a running rig but always have a rubber stop on the line about 2 feet up for an added umph when that lead hits that stop. I feel more confident knowing that the fish is hooked good before I even pick up the rod

ty scott . yeah josh i use running rig because i dont have them korda clips (economy) is there a way to make a bolt rig by using something else ?

Jesse, you can crimp a splitshot above your lead to act as a stop for the weight. Right above it will be an immediate 'bolt', or 1 to 2 feet above it (as Scott mentioned) will give the effect of setting the hook as the fish is moving with the bait when the lead reaches the 'stop'.

thanks brian . i will try that .lately the have just been pecking and not getting hooked . makes me wonder if its turtles ...the turtles were gone but it seems they are sticking there heads up and hanging around again frown .also the mesquitos are biting big time now at sunset ... there were gone for a while too but are back again too frown .guess all the rain and the warm temps brought them back . come on cold weather ,im ready for you !
