Just curious as to what you people that have them think about them. I had my mind made up on bying a pair and then saw where people are getting mildew smell from the dryer's. Thanks for any info

I really like ours. You have to let it air out after you use it, and you will not get that smell.

The mildew smell will come from the Washer. However, We leave our washer door open so this does not happen.(Of course after the washing has stopped...lol) We have the LG front loaders with the pedestal. Very happy with them so far. We have had them for about 2 years now.

The washer also has a tub cleaning maintenance process you need to do, along with draining the water. (there is a drain on the front for draining the excess leftover water)

We also have the LG's and have had the mildew smell, but we drain about every 2 weeks and tub clean about once a month. No smell whatsoever now.

We hate our maytag Epic-Z. We leave the door open as well. Different does not mean better. No problem with dryer. Washer has given fits and broken a belt in about 2 years.

It's just Mrs. Caddo and me...no kiddos. So we only do a few washes a week.

We have been very happy with the Maytag Neptune. Had them 5-6 years with not problem or no smell. We would not go back to the top load.

Sounds like too much work.............

I have the whirlpool duets, so far after 2 yrs. no problems, haven't had any problems with smells or anything and we don't leave the door open.very happy with the duet.

We have a Kenmore set. I don't do the laundry so it don't matter to me. Have never had mildew smell.Washer vibrates more than I think it should and was pretty loud. Sears repairman said thats what they do and to live with it.Motor fell off and totaled all internal parts. Buy the extended warranty!!After 10 different 3 hr phone conversations Sears finally showed pity and replaced washer.After all that BS we went through that was our LAST purchase from Sears!!!

I think the main advantage is they use less water than a top loading washer.

We will be buying a new set in the near future and I am very sure we will stay with the top load type....

If/when ours ever goes out I won't hesitate to buy another one. We like them real well.

Doh !!!...I haven't cleaned mine. However, I just cleaned it out and took all of 2 minutes. There was only about 3 cups of water and a paper clip. It wasn't bad at all. I will need to put that on my bi-weekly maintenance schedule. I need to read the manual for the tub clean process.

Our LG washer is also one of those that saves on energy. It creates it's own electricity when spinning, therefore not drawing as much. Pretty cool.. We will not hesitate to buy another set. With the pedestal there
is no bending over to load/unload clothes from the dryer. Our LG's are very quite.

Yeah, A bunch of guys talking about bloody washers and dryers.

I have had my LG set for about a year now. There is only 3 in our house and they run twice as long as my old top loaders and if you leave the door open the light stays on.

Now I dont wash unless my wiffe is busy, but they take twice as long to do the same job.

If its up to me (which it wont) the next set would be old school and cost 1/3 the price. We seem to have to keep up with the Jones.

Last month I purchased the Whirlpool Duets from Lowes.

Paid around 2k for both, I also got the 15" stand which is cool and you can store all your bleach, Detergent. Stands ran $250 each (little Pricey)

Lowes gave me free delivery, and I purchased a 5 years extended warranty on both Washer/Dryer for $150 (Which Was a Great Price).

We have the LG washer & dryer. My wife really likes them.

Duped again. I can buy a lot of water for the $1800 difference in price for the $400 conventional set we bought 5 years ago. I mean their just a plain white GE set and don't look as cool, but neither stinks and are virtually maintenance free.

That said, if I had planned on using them for a conversation piece and putting them in the living room, I might have splurged and got them.

I HATE my front load washer. I don't want to leave the door open on the washer because it interferes with the path leading to and from the garage. I don't think they wash as well and you have to constantly maintain them unlike the top load washer. Also a regular wash setting takes over an hour, at least on my GE Adora.

I have zero issues with the dryer.
