fish a pond for bass and catfish almost daily, and see anywhere from 5-10 koi cruising around with some carp mixed in here and there. When the bass bite is slow certain days, i'd like to target these fish, but have no experience with that style of fishing. any help on bait or presentation is appreciated

You are going to get a lot of volunteers to show you how to catch the koi in person...

canned sweet corn and a split shot will catch them, but it can get VERY SOPHISTICATED if you are serious

haha im not too serious at all! in fact today, i had nothing but trick worms for bass fishing, but some kids had left a bag of popcorn there and it was all over the ground. i put a piece on a perch hook and set her out. the koi came up and pull it right off the hook, frustrating haha. but thank you for the advice regarding sweet corn. should i fish it on the bottom?

where is this pond? hmmm.....

If it is a park pond you can use bread, especially if the kids feed ducks there. You can fish the corn or bread on the bottom, or possibly without a weight under a small float. If you use bread, you will need to compress it tightly to the hook. Good luck. If you get a koi, post the pictures..

Small is good (size 4-8 or so), but they need to be sturdy--don't use thin wire hooks.
