I have a new chum bait for Channels.

5 gallon bucket
4" of fresh small shad
8-10" range cubes
2" wheat
3 boxes of the TV bait shrimp
big handfull of worms
and the guts of my last catch.

Use a gasket type lid but it really isn't that bad smelling.

keep submerged for 1 week adding water and mixing with a drill and paint mixer daily. Keep it semi-liquidy and throw out a couple of dust pans full.

This stuff has big/small pcs, oil slick and range cube/wheat powder line, works good just watch the wind and current to use in your favor. I usually catch most of my fish on S7 but with this stuff they nail the Sure Shot.

It all swells up to about 3/4 full in the 5 gallon bucket. I keep the 50# of wheat and the 50# range cubes in a lrg. aluminum trash can to keep rodents out.

throw in some cheese and some cattails and you would have a really good stink bait.

I believe Marvs uses hoggs hair and its easier to use and get than cattails. Deer hair is a good thought.

never thought about using hair, Cattails are everywhere here in central texas I just cut a pillow case full and it will last a long time. After they dry for a couple of months they are really easy to fluff off into the bait.
