When you cruise around Eisenhower park theres like boat ramp entrance at the south east corner of that loop you make going around the park. Hopefully some one else will chime in only been there once and never fished there.

Man, I've had my kayak in storage for several weekends now -- first was sick for a couple or three weeks and then it got cold and now I find I'm spending my weekends helping some friends -- including a sick five year old (with mastocytosis). I just took them up to my house in Ft Worth and letting them stay there while his grandma takes him to a doctore u there and tries to get some kind of solution. Really sweet kid. I just set him up with a LOT of GeoTrax, plus in my house he gets to play with the whole room of GeoTrax I have set up. (Yes, I'm a big kid -- 66, but still a kid inside. I tell people I'm really 4 years old.)

Well, that map -- if you switch from sat view to map mode, I think shows a road leading to that Deep Bend place -- there's a parking lot and you can walk down a path to where you can fish from the bank or launch a kayak -- not a boat. Better not leave anything valuable in your vehicle, except maybe a big dog, or just leave the windows open and take everything out.

There isn't any 'official' parking.
Going south on Eldrige, there is a small turnoff just before the levee on the right. You can then (in a truck or if you are adventurous) drive back along the road north and park.

Anyone know anything about These ponds and lakes?

Zoom in on the marker take a look around north of 90 in between 90 and ramline road.
Seems to be ALOT of mid sized ponds and smaller lakes in that area. Bet one or more is pretty loaded.

I dont know anything about those ponds. But if you go to Good times marina you can prob get close to some of those ponds threw the san jac river. If you fish the river you can catch bass and reds... You can google, good times marina

Ez if they are like others in the area, they're owned by sand/rock pit excavators and don't like people coming in to fish. If you have an 'in' then you'll probably have good fishing; there is another lake in the area that 'I know a guy who knows a guy' and I can occassionally fish; lots of bass, crappie, bluegill, etc. I'm not at liberty to invite anyone, tho!

Would that other lake be buckhorn? I was eyeballing it today after getting skunked at the trout pond in eisenhower.

LOL must have been 40 ppl there today!
Only fish I saw cought was by a small kid. and the dead 8" trout I found in about 2 foot of water.
Was there from 9 till 12, threw everything including the kitchen sink at them, but NOTHING was biting for anyone.

I've been to the Eisenhower pond a few times after stocked trout and have never hooked anything there.

Yea the front pond on eisenhower. Been there 7 times cought nuthing each time.

Yea, Buckhorn lake looks REALLY nice! If you drive past it (buck horn on your left, headed away from aquaduct road) look for the dirt road leading to the dirt quarry. there is a NICE! large pond back in there. half of it is coverd in some kind of water plant.
Thought about asking the guys working there if I could fish it..

I fished the Independence Park retention pond in Pearland the other day. Good looking little pond with grass/hydrilla. Caught 2. Anybody have any other places worth checking out??

RAMPHARMD you might want to try out Tom Bass Park. I haven't caught anything big out of there, but there's fish...

BTW, re: Buckhorn Lake - it's private and they have an annual dues for fishing. Supposed to have some real nice bass, carp, and other fish. Since there is so much other fishing around, though, I just can't justify subscription fishing. No doubt it (and others like it) provide better chances for quality fish, though.

Buckhorn looks like an awesome lake. I stumbled across it last year and have wanted to fish it ever since. Ive tried calling them at least 10 times but can never get anyone to answer the phone.
