I just have to drop what I'm doing and get out a little on a day like today! So, left the dock at 2 pm and went to Midlake Hump (half way across lake between The Pinnacle Club House and Key Ranch). Saw a good pattern of fish ( within 2 ft of bottom and spread out) where top of hump is 27 ft deep. I decided to try a larger bait in this deeper water so put on a #5 silver Blue Fox spinner. Caught fish on 1st drag and continued to catch them there until I had a limit of whites (90% magnum). Then, wanted to check out Key Ranch. There I saw fish on slope from 18 to 23 ft but couldn't get a bite.

***!woah! The fish cheating incident was just on Ch 5's 6 o'clock news.***

Back to today's results - I quickly picked up my marker and moved north to a part of Key Ranch I call Key Ranch North - a finger that juts out from west to east a little ways north of the main structure. It was covered with great fish pattern, so I marked and started fishing. Caught another limit of Magnum whites, 1 keeper yellow, 2 cats and 5 short hybrids to 17 inches for total afternoon haul of 58 fish. Left for dock at 4:35pm.

nice Dennis. Your reports are keeping me motivated. Went to BP but they had very few mepps plain. The beeds are really a single piece too while the pictures you show look like the beads are three seperate beads. I hope my #4 plain aglia with the silver blade is the right bait. Will check on Saturday and give you a report.

I know that I am blessed and I thank God every day. Opportunity to fish frequently and enjoy the great outdoors in retirement is actually way down the list. Here are some of the greater blessings I thank Him for: 1. I had Christian parents who loved one another, who advocated and lived out Christian values and who held my sisters and me to those standards by raising us up in the church. As a result I was able to come to my own Christian faith early in life and avoid many bad things; 2. I met my life's partner - a beautiful, strong Christian girl - in the 9th grade. We fell in love as juniors in high school and were married after our junior year in college and have now enjoyed 46 wonderful years together - what a blessing! 3. We were blessed with 2 healthy children - a girl and a boy and they both turned out great; 4. My sisters and our families have always gotten along and we still have great times getting together for the holidays; 5. Have been blessed all my life with good health; 6. Being born in and growing up in a country like America and 7. there is a whole host of blessings related to my Christian faith - personal access directly to God through prayer, access to all of scripture in a language I can understand, forgiveness and peace with God and on and on.

"To whom much is given much is required" the good book says so, knowing I have been greatly blessed, I try to give back by serving Him and my neighbors through the local church and in trying to live day by day by the golden rule.

Sorry for the long response but felt I needed to put things in perspective.
