Good!! Stuff the cheaters Holiday turkey with something other than lead. Like fines, confiscations, jail time etc. It is amazing to me that two months later it still makes people so mad.

Quoted from eagle 2 (Also learned Captain Collins biggest Bass was around 8lbs with a 12 pound head.)
Unlike RR bass that would be a 12 pound bass with a 8lb head and a 4lb belly.
Sorry, just seemed appropriate.
FYI Robby Rose regardless of the findings of the authorities is permanently banned from competing in all future J C Outdoors events.

My partner and I were fortunate enough to win the St Judes tournament at Lewisville a few weeks ago. Imagine what I was thinking.

Yesterday i read in an outdoor newspaper that TPWD will more than likely file a Class A misdemeaner charge since there is nothing in the penal code that specifically calls for "altering a fish". I got the paper at southwestern parts on mockingbird. It sounds like the state needs to change their laws. That would help on the slot lake tourneys of cutting fins also.

Spoke with Captain Garry Collins with TPWD today.
Last weeks meeting with the District Attorney went well and they had to go back and redo some statements regarding the investigation.
Spoke with Alex Imgrund at the Rockwall County District Attorneys Office.
He is a good poker player, I can tell. He did mention the investigation is on going, and would not show his hole cards at all. He gave me nothing in regards to when and if anything will happen in regards to an arrest, or warrants served on RR.
However they both sounded very much like the guy at the dock who just had a great day pre-fishing, and was trying to make it sound like it was tough or an average day at best. This is good I guess?
We have either been this guy or spoke to this guy in our clubs or at the marina many times...., so I felt good about where this is going(prosecution).
So another week goes on, and we wait, I'll call again after the New Year for an update.
No need to let the defense know anything until they need to know I guess.
As far as all the crime out there, this may seem trivial, but it does matter to us?
I hope Justice prevails in the end.
Dan

I keep expecting to read about this in BASS times or Bassmaster. Has it been in there and I just missd it or do you think a pub of that circulation will wait until charges are filed and everything is locked-in?

I think to be prudent they have to wait, then they will publish once charges are brought formally.

Steroids did not hurt Baseball, Criminals Playing in the NFL did not hurt gate revenue, There have been other cheating incidents in Bass Fishing, they will all continue to grow.

I might be wrong, but I'd be surprised if you see it published in any of the big magazines. Their very existance relies on the building of our sport and attracting advertising revenue, things like this just tear it down. True, but I think the fact that he was busted strengthns the tourney industry. At least to me it did. He got away with it for a while, but got busted and now can't do what he "loves" and is facing judicial punishment. To me the moral of the story is: You WILL get caught, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but you WILL get caught. Like hunting mags publishing stories about poachers and what it cost them. Hopefully it will make other cheaters, or potential cheaters, think before they throw it all away.
