I am only assuming that you are talking about Sheldon Reservoir. The thing is virtually flat with a few holes and a lot of large alligators. Throwing frogs and jigs are not a bad idea.

Make sure you clean off your boat real well; Sheldon has giant salvinia; don't spread the infestation!

+1 on the plant infestation. Sometimes, it is almost impossible to get your boat in and out of the ramp because it becomes plugged up.

You can go to lake houston or put in at Good times marina to get on the river. i think you should do good there.
