With alot of families struggling right now because of the economy and little or no work, I would like to try and put something together to feed as many needy families as possible this Thanksgiving.

I had the ideal of raffling off some guide trips. I know I can get a guide trip on Falcon and Amistad donated for sure. Maybe we can get some others to donate guide trips. Sell the tickets for a dollar each.

If anyone is intrested in doing something like this with me, that would be great. If anyone has other ideals, im open for anything. I just want to try and help out a brother, sister, neighbor, anybody who is struggling right now.

I know were short on time, but the challange it self would be rewarding in the end.


I have recieved the phone call I have been waiting for, and trust me this is not a waste of our time.

Salvation Army has given me the information of 5 families that are in need for Thanksgiving. The one that sticks out the most for me is a single mother of 4 that works full time and is struggling. I am personaly going to deliver a Thanksgiving dinner to 5 families that I felt are very deserving of our help. Everything else we come up with will be given to other families in need.

Every person that makes a donation of a turkey, can goods, or other items for Thanksgiving dinner will be placed in a drawing for several guide trips. As of right now, I have two guide trips to give away, and I am working on more. The most important thing right now is to start collecting donations of food items so we can get these items to the families in need before Thanksgiving.

Guys AOL is running an article today, that Walmart is selling 10-12 lb. turkeys for 40 cents/lb. That's only $5 for a turkey. I think most of us could afford that.

Just give us logistics and drop off locations and I'll bet we can come up with a lot of goods.

At $5 bucks a pop I could get a few turkeys. My mom works for Wally World. She works at the one in Corinth, it's only about a 1/2 mile from my house. Need to get a drop off location or more info.

Went to the Wally World by my house this evening they are all but picked over on the .40/lb turkeys. They also have a limit of 2/person.

I will be fishing a tournament on Grapevine Saturday, So by the time its over and I get my winnings I will be headed to Cabelas. If I cant make it there by 5pm my wife will be there for sure.

Met Darryl last night actually we spent nearly 2 hours with him the the parking lot of Cabelas. Feels like were old friends now. Thanks goes to Darryl for doing such a wonderful thing for folks. Need more people like him.

I hope he reaches his goal.... At least 50 turkeys. That's alot of Bird guys and gals will feed quite a few.

I want to thank everyone for their donations of turkeys and caned-goods. We came up with 36 turkeys and over 300 pounds of other food for this food drive. I would like to double that next year, and I dont think that will be a problem with all the good people here on the TFF. I will have the drawing for the 5 guide trips were giving away when I get back from the Delta next week.
