riceland.com is offering it in gallon bottles again. I like to use it exclusively for all my deep frying because it has a higher smoke point than peanut oil, you don't have to worry about folks having nut allergies and most of all it is the healthiest oil available. It actually can lower cholesterol instead of adding to the problem.

It's available in 6 gallon cases and with shipping it comes to about 60 bucks. A case will last an individual a year no problem and it stores that long without going rancid. At 10 bucks a gallon that's cheaper than peanut oil too.

How does it stand up against peanut oil taste wise?

I like it better than peanut oil. Taste, smoke point, viscosity, hypo allergenic and healthier.

It's a no brainer really other than the difficulty if finding it locally in smaller quantities. I buy a case a year or so which costs right at 60 bucks delivered to my door. That's 10 bucks a gallon. For 100% peanut oil you'll pay about 12 bucks a gallon so, it is more economical too but you have to buy in small bulk; 6 gallons at a time.

Read this webpage about the good stuff and uses:
