HI ALL, IN THE EARLY 90S WE HAD A CHEATER JOIN OUR BASS CLUB HERE IN WEATHERFORD. HE SPANKED US PRETTY GOOD THE FIRST 5 TOUR. AND WE ALL SAID MAN THIS DUDE IS GOOD. WELL THERE WAS 2 GRAND OR SO IN OUR OVER 6 POT WITH A 2 DAY AT FORK COMMIN UP. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A HARD 2 DAYS OF FISHING EXCEPT FOR OUR CHEATER - HE WEIGHED IN ONE OVER 6. THE PROBLEM WAS THE FISH WAS SICK LOOKING HIS NOSE AND MOUTH WERE BEAT UP HE WAS WHITE LOOKIN - NOT YOUR TYPICAL HEALTHY FORK FISH. SO WE TOLD HIM HE NEEDED TO TAKE A POLI AND HE DID AND DIDN'T PASS - HE TOOK 2 MORE AND DIDN'T PASS WE TOLD HIM HE WAS NOT GETTING THE MONEY AND THREW HIM OUT OF THE CLUB - HIS RESPONCE WAS - WHATEVER. NOW IF IM IN A SITUATION THAT I AM BEING CALLED A CHEATER AND I AM NOT AND NEVER HAVE THOSE ARE FIGHTIN WORDS - MY POP ALWAYS SAID - I HATE A LIER CHEAT AND A THIEF - I FOLLOW THE RULES - THIS GUY TOOK FIRST PLACE MONEY FROM ME AND I WON'T EVER FORGET IT. WE ALL HAD A BAD TASTE IN OUR MOUTH FOR A LONG LONG TIME --- G

We need to hold off on the jokes for a while, and especially those that mention someone who has not yet officially been linked to this incident.

i agree, but those three posts made it worth reading all 49 pages. we ought to just give'em all a polygraph and clear this matter up one way or another. oh, thats right, nevermind....

Seriously! I am tired of seeing it, but can't help but continue to open it and read. I know what he did was wrong but holding bitterness and unforgiveness against someone is like drinking poison and hoping it hurts the other person. There is know way of knowing for sure if he ever cheated before now, one can only assume.

hopefully this is not going to be a farewell to a very very important situation, personally I think the mods should put this one on top and leave it ther, many people have not had a chance to see this, read all of it and it is something we need to keep on top.

I think one of the things that bother me the most besides the obvious is that I see a guy that probably had some real talent at fishing. He obviously had the resources to help him succeed the right way if he desired. I take a guy like myself that has no natural ability in fishing and that has to spend a ton of time on the water to find just a slight hint of success. I have to bust my butt at it and then I have to work OT and odd jobs to pay my way and it just sucks knowing that if I get lucky and put a day together that gives me a shot to win a bigger event that there are guys like that out there that have no qualms in stealing it away. That bugs the heck out of me cause I know there are more anglers in my same shoes than guys that are just gifted at it. It really also causes me to question others a bit more when I fish and wonder if anything like this is going on. in the end anyone that competes in tournaments suffer due to issues like this. +10000... For this reason, I have been very reluctant to spend my hard earned money entering tournaments. I would like to enter more and see how my talents stack up against the others. But, I will be very hesitant in entering any tournaments. Maybe this is why I like fishing in our club tournaments because no money is involved. TRUST ME.......PEOPLE WILL CHEAT EVEN WHEN MONEY AINT ON THE LINE! EGO IS JUST AS VALUABLE AS MONEY TO PEOPLE LIKE THIS! I HAVE SEEN IT FIRST HAND!

TRUST ME.......PEOPLE WILL CHEAT EVEN WHEN MONEY AINT ON THE LINE! EGO IS JUST AS VALUABLE AS MONEY TO PEOPLE LIKE THIS! I HAVE SEEN IT FIRST HAND! I agree, I was President of a Club in Nebraska for a few years, an officer for a few more years, I was always amazed at what guys would try to get away with. We didn't fish for any real money either ($100-$150 an event total purse), but it was never about the money. It was about getting a limit, or beating a personal best, or even just tired of getting beat by the same people in the Club month after month. We handled those behind the scenes though, adjusted the scores, never lost a member due to any of this and never had to talk to the same member about it more than once. The guys that are doing it for money will keep doing it, keep escalating it and even if they are caught, will continue to cheat to win money if given the chance. If am all for forgivness, to give someone a second chance and believe that people can change if they really want to. But at the same time, some people can't handle the temptation of what they see as an easy way to make money, doesn't matter how many people they step on or hurt to do it. Just like you can't give an alcholic just a single drink, you can't give these types of people the opportunity as what they see as an easy mark. At the Club level, you talk to someone about it, they are embarrassed and they won't do it again. But by the time guys are cheating for money, they have already been able to get away with it for years at every level, I don't think they know how to compete without cheating. Or at least without the net of cheating behind them in case they don't do well when the money is on the line.

I worked First Monday Trade Days in Canton for 5 days.
Saw lots of fishermen come through the booth, Ranger hats, other logoed fishing apparell, some from Dallas, some from east Tx, None were TFFer's, none heard of the cheating.
Lots of guys out there that haven't heard of Robby getting caught, finally!.
Some, how, the public needs to get the message in DFW.

It's just to bad that the greed of money has polluted eveything! I know there are still some people who have integerity. But how do you justify cheating on your taxes? Cause we all have at some point and time! So just look in the mirror.
