Cliff I would first check the fuel lines and filter for trash. Might try running some ring free in it. What kind of motor is it merc, yami?

Nope, I might be up for fishing it if someone else on here is looking for a backseat. My partner is probably not willing to go that far. Does it fish or look anything like fairfield in december?

Fayette has more grass, a ton of grass. For those who know it, it can be awesome, for those that dont, it can be a bit of a challenge.Water temp, and how many stacks are blowing, and which way they are blowing are all important factors. This lake has been pounded and still produces. My vote would have been Fairfield in Dec, Fayette in January, but I dont go to meetings or vote. This is a fun lake, very small, but fun. I can remember in the mid 90s we used to smoke em there, I dont know if they still do it but they used to sell a live salamander at the bait shop called "waterdogs" I neve used them, but you could be fishing right beside a boat that was and they would be slaying the big fish, the fish would completey ignore your softbaits. Made it tough to compete against live bait. Eventually we would figure them out, I hae caught some MONSTERS there. Should be fun. Bundle up, that lake sits on a hill or something, wind blows!! it gets cold, and can get rough real quick. 20lbs +.

guys if any of yall r fishing with big stix this weekend at whitney, the ramp is the lofers bend by the dam, start time is 6:15.

fayette looks a lot like fairfield except its a whole lot better lake becasue of the slot, lots of cattails and lots of grass, one of my partners went there a few weeks ago and caught 96 fish, they have been catching 40-50 every trip.

you going to go to fayette james.

texas parks and wildlife website has good info about fayette county.

I would like to, just dont know yet. I used to leave work early on thursdays, spend fri, sat, sun at that lake. rented a camper behind the bait shop for 25 bucks a night. their were things bigger than cats that crawled around in that camper. During the summer I would fish it at night, no other boats. Man when they turned on it was like nothing youve ever seen, one time right before dark I caught 4 fish over 6lbs on a zara spook, same little pocket in the back of three fingers.AmAzInG!!!!!!!
