Hello all,

We are planning a pot tournament for this Sunday 11/1/09 at Lake Pat Cleburne from 6:30AM - 12:00 Noon. The lake is completely full and the fishing since has been excellent!!!

The particulars:

5 fish - 14" or larger
$25.00 entry ($20 goes to te pot & $5 to big fish)
Single or 2 person teams, but no more than 2 per boat.
6:30AM - 12:00 Noon
1 lb deduction per dead fish weighed

Any questions, comments, thoughts or suggestions call me at 817-933-0919 and I will do my best to help you in any way possible.

Thanks,
Marti WIlliams

Good deal, you guys make team #7 committed so far. See you guys then. What are the possibilities of using the Dirty South scales? We have a couple of sets of the Rapala hand scaled that we have used in the past and worked without a hitch, but, the set that Dean had the other day at Alvarado is much better. No sweat of that is not an option though.

I'll find out about the scale. But the bigger question is that the time changes 2:00 am Sunday morning. And safe light is around 7:00 am now,if you start at 6:30 am,it will be like 5:30 is now?Just a thought.Pretty dark around 6:30 right now, can't imagine 5:30 lol.Just looking at it as a safety prospective.See ya all Sunday.

You need some sleep. 6:30 in the morning will be like 7:30 due to the fact we fall back an hour. I hope you can catch some fish in the morning because lord knows I can't lately!!!!!!

Dean,

Look at the time he posted that last night, maybe his mind was a bit fuzzy. Glad you straightened out the question. We went to Granbury and it was TOUGH this morning. Had 1 4lber try and take my bait as I was about to pull it out of the water and that was the only bite we got. Had to go to the power plant before we got out of the chocolate milk. I sure hope it clears up before the 15th.

Mike, sounds like you were hitting something a little stronger than the candy last night..lol! Granbury was tough Saturday. Muddy, muddy, muddy!! Hopefully it will not rain for a couple of weeks and it will clear up. Good look to you and Dean today.

Marti,
I am planning on being there this Sunday. Have you had anyone else confirm. Just wondering how many you thought might be there. Give me a shout this week sometime.

Where do you guys meet for signup and launch? I may try to join you this Sunday, depends on what happens Saturday with my other fishing plans this weekend. Any reason I couldn't fish this tourny in a jon boat with only a trolling motor? I don't have a livewell but can rig something up pretty easily and cheaply.

The sign up and launch is at the main boat ramp next to the golf course. I would assume that it would be ok to fish from a john boat. Just be aware that there is a 1 lb. penalty for a dead fish at weigh in. It starts at 6:30 am and goe till noon.

understand the penalty and don't like dead bass anymore then anyone else. I'll skip this one and join you guys when I get my boat ready, hopefully not too much longer. may see you out there, fished both days this weekend and got nothing but found some good possibilities.

thanks
Rick

I think we have 6 confirmed so far and 4 maybe's. I would like to get 10 so we can pay more than 1 place.

What if we made it $20.00 a man,$5.00 goes towards big bass. That way your eliminating having to have 10 or more boats,to spread the money.$20 a man is not alot of money to go on a Sunday morning and have some fun.Just my .02 cents.

Example 8 boats

6 teams= $240
2 ind(by theirself)$40

14 anglers pays 2 places

1st-$125
2nd-$85
bb-$70

Count me in for sure. How ever ya'll decide is fine with me, $20 a person or $20 a team, either way. See ya at the ramp.

I am good with that too, the cost makes no difference to me. My problem enlies in the fact of I don't feel comfortable toting around 10 fish in my small livewell. At the Cleburne open when we had 2 big fiah and 3 other keepers in there it was pretty tight quarters....That is IF we each have 5 keepers...as far as that goes, I guess I could quit the griping and just fish alone. But, my dad loves to fish and I like to take him. We can vote on it and go with whatever you all want. I am easy to please.
