Can you please tell me how much further I can run down the lake than what is shown in the below pic? My only time there, I remember seeing plenty of telephone poles sticking up about 6 inches in the middle of the main lake heading towards the dam...

Depends on how big a boy you are? You can run all the way to the inlet if your brave enough.

I run all the way down to the Dam. Just watch for the stumps that are above the water. I run my GPS trail all the time.

Dan, I was there in Jan. and ran all the way down to the dam and was just fine. I was also following a much faster boat than mine.

Yea the problem is that the lake is about 3 feet high right now. If it was normal level, are you saying the only stumps too worry about are the visible ones?

Thats hard to say. I can say that I have never hit one at normal pool.I hope I never hit one. I have all the stumps at normal pool marked on my GPS.

There are about 8 to worry about between ramp and dam. If you hug the bank till you get to the cooling towers you will be fine. There is an island that is underwater by the power lines that that has 5 or 6 but if you pay attention you will be fine! No fish on that end of the lake though! smile

If it is up 3ft then the ones that are usually visible will be at the perfect depth to take out a lower unit. I would stop where you have it marked and idle to the dam. It is only about 5 to 10 minutes at idle from there.

Most of the stumps are floaters, they will stay a little above the surface even with the higher lake levels.

Be very careful the first time you run it if you haven't been in a while or after a big rain. Lots of the stumps are floaters and they mover around from time to time.

Thanks. So is my red route even safe at this point? Should I just idle around the lake?

I would get a little closer to that last point where the highlines are. lots of stumps out in the middle of the lake in front of the cooling towers. Past the point there are a few stumps on the left that I stay right of and go between them and the last two stumps you can see on your right with rebar on them and you're good once you get past that. I would take it easy the first time through with all the rain we are getting right now and would probably idle before daylight in the area of the cooling towers.

Such a small lake on that end wouldn't hurt to slow down.
