Jesse and myself have been kicking around the idea of a white rock tournament on Nov. 15, if this were to happen would there be any one interested in attending? We have come to a rough conclusion of a $10 entry fee winner take all, peg or walk off but would like to keep everyone on the same bank. So who's in?

the 15th is on a sunday and I am out, am on call that weekend. Good luck with this, although I'd be more inclined to spread people out over the lake if you had enough people.

I like the idea of everyone fishing the same bank. Everyone has more or less the same odds. Many of us do not have a clue about the lake and potential fishing areas. I'm guessing that this will likely be as much a social event as a tourney.

Like Curt said i guess it would be more of a fin-in/bragging rights tourny than an official big money tournament. Just a bunch of us meet out there for a little friendly competition, a big buff side pot would be cool as well for those catch buffs.

Curt, putting 10 people lined up in a row is not evening the odds, but actually hurting your chances versus spreading it out. A good fishermen can figure out any location using a plumb/marker rod and knowing how carp behave in particular situations. Part of the reason I quit doing the tournaments is all the monday quarterbacks thinking they can do a better job with the tourney. I am still waiting for someone to do better.....

I may be wrong, but Scott you seem to be taking this "fun" tourney more seriously than I am. I was thinking that this was not going to be that big a deal. noidea

I agree, serious tournaments should separate the wannabes from the pros. Either you can catch them or not.

Curt,

I understand what Scott is saying. It is a thankless job to host a local tourney for fun and then have some critical of how it was run. This has happened in the past.

I applaud anyone that goes through the trouble of putting on these tournies for such selfless reasons. They are good fun and it is a great way to lure new folks to the sport. When someone is doing such a good deed it sucks to hear someone else complain about it. Thats why Scott has some charge on the issue.

If everyone would adopt your attitude of "lets get together and have fun" I think they would be a lot more beneficial and tourney organizers would put on more events. I think you have the right idea, Curt.

Congrats to AJ and WRJ for putting on this event. Hopefully everyone will be supportive.

id be in too. i like fishing wrl it can be a challange at times, and i dont think it matters what time you catch there. you ethier catch or you dont, i like the east side just cause it close to my truck and i got my pb grasser there lmao, but the west side is good at times. i havent said this this but, no one knows the lake better than jesse, he fishes that lake more than anyone here, so if he says a area isnt producing id believe him.

Chris, jesse does know wr better than anyone else here, but he is not the end all be all. He kept telling me and richard we were in a dead zone and kept trying to get us to move, yet we proved the dead zone wrong.
Also, where was everyone when I had a wr fish in just 2 months ago, we had like 5 anglers total? I will help anyway I can but make up your mind, is it a fish in or a tournament?

Why not make it a CAG fishin; open to all with side pots?

im pretty sure there is no reason to start freting over 10 dollars guys....seriously

im looking for the enjoyment of spending time on the bank with my comrads talking about gear and methods hookbaits...etc...im not too worried about the money and if i catch fish then cool. I enjoy having everyone fishing together and not stressing over who is catching what!!!

Lets keep it fun guys! Thats what its all about!

You said it Jeff thumb this is just supposed to be a fun get together, if anyone wants to just show up and fish and not join the tournament that's cool too. This friendly competition not a big money tournament, no matter how many people show up it will be fun to get together. Even if only Jesse and myself show up then the winner will leave with the $20 pot and the loser will wear a dress the next time we have a fish in. That's right Jesse i just raised the stakes and i have a dress that's looks like it will fit you......
