I was leaning toward Saturday but the weather now looks like it might be better Sunday. I'll be there one of the two days but gonna wait and see on the weather.

Ghostie is tough sometimes. I seems to have good luck there though.

Here is my fave catch from Ghostie, not my biggest but I like that it is a ghost and quite fat

I am a method user 99% of the time. Pull up Tres Flores baits. You will see good examples of boilies. Maize is just prepared corn that has various flavors or additives.

I have yet to use any boilies, still a newbie there. Will likely do so this winter.

yeah ive been making maize lately but i have seen so many different ways to fish.i have seen a 2 oz weight with a method ball on the hair completely covering it.i have seen just a 2 oz weight and a hair rig with maize.same thing with boilies also.im just confused over so many different types.i know the basic one.feeder and then a swivel and hair rig.

Dad and I were there from 10AM till about 8:30PM. We only caught one each and they were both at the same time lol. His was a nice 15lb. ghost, though not nearly as fine a specimen as Jeff's was.

As I was unhooking that fish, I got a run that turned out to be a very strange fish. Rick and I both thought it was a bigmouth buff until I looked at it closely. It had the distinct high-backed buff shape and was short but very stout and around 10lb. or so. When I looked at it closer I realized it had the serrated dorsal spine and tiny tiny barbules, as in about 1 mm long, which are both sure signs of carp. I used to occasionally catch carp/goldfish hybrids in IL but I've never seen one as big as this one. I got some pics of it but I haven't pulled them off the camera yet. I'll post them when I do.

It was nice fishing with you and your pop and your boy Rick. I wouldn't give up on Ghostie just yet. It's not always on but it's worth it when it is and 90% of the carp there are double digits.

Also nice meeting you Stephen, hope to catch you on the bank again soon.

Yesterday was Halloween and the moon was nearly full--maybe you caught a were-carp.

Is that a crucian, or perhaps goebel?

I have fished Ghostie just once, last Thanksgiving, but I love the place. Caught my current PB there in about 3 hours of fishing. Amazing fishery for the size!

I wish I had been able to go. Son came up from Houston. Can't afford to miss out on the good weather. Gonna hit Lake Arlington Tuesday morning. I plan on baiting it a couple of times today.
