I am need of a tires for my truck but dont have a lots of money to spend right now. Pep Boys seems to have the best deal (buy 3 and get the 4th free) to fit my truck ( LT 265 75 R16 with Low E rating) and tread pattern to be a M+S tire. I hear that Pep Boys carries all Cooper tires. I have owned Cooper Tires and curious to hear your experience.

The last 2 sets I bought were from Walmart. The Uniroyal Liberator A/T's the first set went 51k, and actually had better traction then the original set of Goodyear Wranglers that went 45k. The second set of Lib's the guy at Wally world gave me a good enough deal that I couldn't refuse. So far with this set and the last have no complaints other than a slight road noise at highway cruising speed. But overall haven't had traction issues in wet weather or pulling up wet boat ramps either. They have handled any loads I've thrown at them. When it comes to ice and snow if I don't drive the comany vehicle then I don't need to go. Too many intellectually challenged drivers out there when that happens. But wouldn't be afraid to do so if I had to.

Thanks guys. The coopers were quoted to me at about $475 after rebate. Big spread between that and anything else I am finding. Money is tight right now so dont want to over purchase if dont have too

Cooper makes good tires. Some of the Pep Boys branded tires used to not be very good. I haven't dealt with them for years so I can't honestly comment on the new ones.

NTW has been running a few sales lately. Both require you to buy an alignment to get the deal though. Buy 2 get 2 free & buy 3 get 1 free. They usually run it on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Call them & see if they're running it again soon.

That sounds like and excellent price and Coopers are good tires. Cooper used to have a plant in Texarkana not sure it's still there. There's not that many mfg's here anymore.

I have had bad luck out of Cooper's as well as my family.
I would look at anything else besides them and General tires.

I have had excellent service out of Cooper Discovery light truck tires. I'll buy them again. Good tires for the money.

I've heard good things about Cooper tires and was looking to get a pair recently. I ended up getting some falkens from discount tire. 4 new 20 inch tires, mounted and balanced for under $500. I wanted the coopers, but couldn't pass up the deal on the falkens.

97fordnut, cooper does still have the Texarkana plant. My brother in law worked there and has some friends who still do currently.

ran Coopers for years on all my trucks, everything from mud to a/t's. I tried 2 sets on my F250 6.0 truck and was real disappointed in how they lasted......at least on the back. Apparently the diesel has enough torque to just barely spin the rear tires if there is any thing on the road, wore the back tires out twice as fast as the front.
This is on my wife's truck, I would have understood if it was mine.

I run nothing but Cooper on my trucks. 1st thing I do when I get a new truck is go to my tire dealer and change out factories for Cooper ATR 10 ply.

Currently running Mickey Thompson MTZ's. I love them!! For those who don't know Cooper makes the Mickey Thompson line of performance tires.

Coopers rock right now but from what I understand production will be moved to China soon. I've bought my last set unless someone can tell me otherwise.
