Where the best place for a newbie to learn to tie, and learn tools and materials needed. Need another hobby since i am giving up pool playing, reloading and shooting for a while. Since I only fish 2-3 times a week I need another hobby for the other days smile

Rodney, Go to YouTube and type in crappie jig tying. Get some ideas, try them, then either get ahold of RadTexan (in Lubbock) or if you want to come to Snyder either of us will help you with some tips. Once you get the basics down, your imagination is your only limit. (Maybe your pocket book, too!)

I'll be glad to help and I know Roger (Rad) would, too.

The best resource I think is just get after it. I still have never watched someone else tye a jig. That may be why I don't do it very well. I have watched a few u tube videos but that is it. Sandwich maker gave me some advice on painting pony head jigs and that was very helpful. So I suggest go for it.
