I'm staying outside of College Station this weekend. I plan on going to lake Somerville at least one day. I'll be fishing from the bank and looking for catfish(I'll settle for anything that bites though).

Any one familiar with the lake? What should I try?

Thanks,
Aaron

Somerville is a very good catfishing lake. All the usual baits will work. Good luck!

Are you fishing by boat or by land?

there is one park on the north side of the lake we used to go to when i lived in college station, it has a creek that runs into the lake that you drive right next to when entering the park, fish that creek with liver and you will kill the catfish. Not sure of the name of the park, it has been 5 yrs since i lived there, but still a memorable spot.

Sorry I did not get b ack to you, I left town for the weekend myself. He is probably talking about Big Creek where the creek runs in. Lots of fresh water in the lake now, finally over full, and the fish will be in the grass where the wind is blowing into the bank. South wind, Big Creek area will be good.
