I actually registered with forum sometime ago but never had a question 'till now.

I have some acreage out at Lake Fork, and have a 17 ft. aluminum pro-crappie boat with a 50hp merc.

QUESTION: Can a Rhino or Mule pull my boat to the ramp 1/2 mile away?

I know I can find out what the tow capacity is I was just wondering. I have motorcyle, would like to drive from Dallas out to my property, hook up my boat to "something" and pull it to the boat ramp.

I don't think they are rated for that much weight. I think my teryx is rated for more than the mules and about the same as a Rhino. It's rated at 1300lbs. The Polaris Ranger HD is rated up to 2000lbs.

Yes it will pull it. Rated weight and what they will actually pull are quite different. Should be no problem pulling it out if it is 4 wheel drive. Might spin coming out if not. I move mine which is alot heavier around with my lawn mower. Need some help keeping your acreage up? Just need place to stay while there mowing or whatever lol. Lots of that whatever lol.

My tournament partner pulls his out of his muddy back yard with his Polaris and it's a heavy 21' boat. Short distances should be no problem.

I have never pulled my boat with my Rhino, but I have pulled a 16 foot trailer, had between 2000-2500 pounds of deer corn on it before. I wasnt breaking any land speed records but in low gear it did just fine.

I saw first hand a mule pull a f350 diesel out of the mud, both were 4x4. It spun a little and locked it's axles, to my amazement the crew cab 4x4 diesel came out. I'd call me a liar if I had not been there...

Without a doubt, a mule should be able to pull it. I live at Fork and I own a mule. I'd be willing to hook up with you and we can see if a mule will fit your needs. (mine's not for sale, just offering a trial run)
I pull all kinds of stuff around that I probably shouldn't and my mule hasn't let me down.
BTW, comparing a TRex, RZR or a Rhino to a Mule/Ranger is pretty much apples to oranges. The first three are much more oriented to play than to work, not to say that they won't do some work but they are really in another class than the other two.

I have an 08 Rhino 700. I can pull my 20 Bug around on flat ground but I wouldn't attempt a ramp with it. A buddy has an Artic Cat and uses his at Choke to pull his 20'Champ in and around the ramps. How steep is the ramp you are using? You may be better off getting a used jeep or something like that a lot cheaper than a 10k UTV.

Either will pull it. Locating a Rhino is difficult and lassoing one is even tougher. Getting him to go in one direction or another is impossible. So I'd get the mule.

Pulling on a flat land is one thing pulling up a hill on a ramp is asking to replace a drive belt. I have pulled My 21ft Nitro out of my garage with my Teryx.

If I was backing it down a ramp, I would be more worried about the brakes.

they will all pull em. ive pull started a 70hp tractor with a kubota RTV, and given those tow the best, but im sure any of the others (rhino, mule, etc.).will pull a boat just fine.

those polaris rangers are awesome i know it will pull it and stop it.but for what one cost you could buy an old pickup or something for a 10th the price.plus it would be so ugly no one would mess with it when you werent there.a nice mule or ranger is too ez for them thiefs to load and be gone.
