What time of year do you catch your biggest fish... This might help our fellow TFF members get an idea when is it the best.

What about yellow bass? I tell ya, they get no respect. You can always count on a yellow to bail you out of a poor day of fishing thumb

I didn't vote because I couldn't vote for just one. Big fish of all kinds are caught in the spring and fall. Sping means big females getting ready for the spawn. Fall means they will be eating to get ready for the long winter. Winter can be real good for big stripers, they don't eat as often but will continue to feed. Summer can be stressfull for hybrids and stripers and makes it less likely to catch a hawg. I will be going striper fishing in December and hoping for one over 30 lb.

You hit the Chesapeake Bay area in December (fish migrating down from the north) and again in May (fish migrating back north) and you're liable to catch a striper over 50-lbs.

I think the Winter is the best time of the year for big Striper and hybrid. They do a lot better in cooler water temperatures. Here in Texas, our Winter is about the right environment for them to thrive. It seems like late January through February are the best times of the year on Tawakoni looking back on my records.
