I have to be in Cisco monday evening. Would like to take my boat and my father for some catch-n-release early monday morning at Hubbard Creek and but have never been on the water. Put-in? Where is the best ramp(with directions). Is the ramp right by the 180 bridge usable? Safe? Can I safely navigate towards the dam from here with out prior experiance? Is there hydrilla in this area? Area anyone has had luck? Thanks for any info as you hate to show up at sunup on a new location with out any info.(especially with your dad). Thanks, 361V

Yeh the 180 ramp is the way to go. Its an easy run towards the dam. Theres not much to run over except for grass. Just go slow until you figure it out. Theres pretty much grass and fish everywhere so just find a stretch you like and start fishing. Goodluck

They have lots of tournaments out of that ramp and release LOTS of bass right there in that little cove. I'd start right there with small crankbaits and worms on the rip-rap if your pressed for time. Today they seemed to like spinnerbaits better.

Just be aware of the weather because from the 180 bridge ramp to the dam is a lot of open water and it can turn into a scary trip should the wind get up.

There is a lake right there at cisco. It's not a bad little lake there was a 10.8 lb caught there last weekend. I think it was caught way up the river but there are plenty of fish on the main lake up to 4 lb and I think you can catch em on crankbaits and swim jigs, plust the topwater bite can be good this time of year. That being said hubbard creek can be phenominal lake and if you like fishing hydrilla that would be a better place to go. At hubbard I would have a topwater and a white spinnerbait and a lake fork tackle baby fork creature tied on prolly in wtmln red. Good luck!

Look at the way the lake runs a north or south wind will kill
you on the main lake. I got caught there in a high wind 4-5 foot waves!
Watch the wind get off the main lake 15-20 mph wind. Unless you have a big boat!

yeah watch the wind, it can get nasty on that lake real quick....but at this time if the year i would start out and start out flipping the holes in the grass...they should be moving back out to main lake points now there....

hubbard can be tough, my folks live on the lake so i grew up fishing it and finally got it figured out, ull need a DD22 and a football head fishd around mainlake points or big hardwoods around rocks, that is if you wanna catch a good sack, if your just catching fish, find some hydrilla and use a senko rigged wacky style or a drop shot, itll be as easy as breathing
