I am looking at getting a kayak soon and saw the scrambler at Academy. From doing searches it seems to get good reviews. It can be used BTB which would be a ways off for me anyway. I want to get experience around bays and lakes first. My only concern is that I am a big guy. I am 5'10" and 256 lbs. Does anyone know if this would be a good kayak considering my size? If not I was considering the drifter angler by OK. Any help is greatly appreciated.

drifter is a bit roomier. But for the price you cant go wrong with the scrambler. Ive had a couple scrambler xt's and Im 270lbs

If you can go a little higher on price you can get a good deal on a manta ray or redfish usually around $575-$675. Colleen at heart of texas kayaks is a great place to find a deal
