funny as that is, i was cussing when i walked outside, 5am, all the way till about 9am... dam it was cold!!! but the crappie were being nice to me. caught over 20 crappie, lots of drum and sandies in the cooler as well. definitely limited on the sandies... so did josh- pics up later.... to tired. not fishing tomorrow due to it was freakin cold this morning

Is anyone going tonight? I should leave here in the next hour or two. The gates are still flowing right? The army corps website says they are still releasing, but I know they are slow in updating sometimes.

They have one gate on and its open at just a trickle.

A trickle is good though, it's kind of a pain when its a torrent in there.

what kind of bait were u using, rooster tail?
were they biting right at the bottom?

they are everywhere in the river. i caught fish all the way to 78. my main thing was graphing the bottom for when they close the gates. that way i can find them. most of the river is 7-9 ft on average, but i found a spot where it drops to 16 ft with humps and trees. so thats where everything will be sitting in the winter time....the fish are not going to just jump over the small dam at 78. there is plenty of food in there for them.. spinners(silver) and black/chart jigs.

Sonfish - were you at the dam yesterday evening. I got there around 4:30pm and a buddy of mine told me you were up there.
