Anyone notice any of the other "news stories" on that site?

"Bunny boilers: Animal rights outrage at Swedish plan to burn thousands of rabbits to heat their homes "

sorry, ain't buyin it. Pic looks worse than some of the "monster hog" pics that go around.

It says in the article Nile perch. Yes Nile perch get big. There is no reason to believe this is a fake.

Jared is right...check out the show on Vs. called "Hunt for Big Fish with Larry Dahlberg" he filmed a show catching those critters using monster stick baits...I think he had one or two pushing 100lbs or more. They are awesome looking fish, so similar to a bass in shape but growing to 200+ plus. That's most likely a real picture.

Thats a real deal fish, Nile "Perch" aren't the same as TRUE family of perches which North American members include, Walleye, Yellow Perch and Saugers, with a few other small members, mostly darters. Not including Bluegill, Redear, Green or any other sunfish.

Lates Niloticus or Nile Perch are strongly similar to Australias Barramundi Lates Calcarifer. Both are large, strong predators that eat nearly anything that fits in their mouth.

There's a few other Lates species that aren't too noteworthy. I have kept both Nile Perch and Barramundi as aquarium fish and they are decent pets that are not violent, just hungry.

That was a really nice Nile Perch in the photo. I'm not sure why so many people always call Nile Perch, Goliath Grouper, Arapaima and Thai Giant Catfish pictures fake. There are genuine monster fish out there in the world. We've got Alligator Gar, Blue Catfish and Sturgeon in North American fresh waters alone that all hit over 100 lbs. Some areas of the world are just fortunate to have beasties that get over 200 lbs.

PS, I know the Goliath Grouper is salt water and HIGHLY protected, but it never ceases to amaze me at how many people call GG pictures fake.

To me the real story here are the readers comments!! 9 out of ten people who commented no this story in the paper it was published in are saying this man is a criminal who needs to be hanged in the tree next to the fish. I thought the PETA people in the states were bad but these people are crazy.

Yeah, the bunny humping sea kitten keepers crack me up. The peta types ALWAYS make me smirk with their downright violent disposition, they'll insult, attack and even have gone so far as to kill, that's right kill other humans because they are, after all... defending animals. LOL
