my pb blackfin is a 25# tuna...the only one i've ever caught too ironicly.

but it was caught offshore from cancun mexico...and sadly i've no pics... because i couldn't get my mom to get to the dock in time...but i heard from the captain and a deckhand that this is just about as big as the blackfin tuna come and that i should've gotten a mount is this true?

7 pounds..lol lots and lots and lots of them. it seems the larger blackfin are nomadic and they fall for baits around shrimp boats and on the troll. except for LA where they catch em out there with chunks in the day. they have to be the strongest little boogers in the ocean! i would hate to tangle with one about 100 pounds(i know they dont get that big)

25-26# off a shrimp boat but have caught a few thouching that weight around the spar rigs and a bunch around 20-23# but most are in the 10-15# range. I catch the vast majority offshore under the bright night lights on Diamond or Butterfly jigs... BFT of all sizes are some great eating!
