Yesterday, I decided to slip out a while so dropped the boat
in the water went directly from Lake Graham through the canal
to Lake Edelman to the power plant outlet, didn't see much
action, but the water was really boiling coming out of the
south gate, made a few casts with nothing then finally got
the slab up against the gate upright, there is a concret slab
that runs about 8 ft out in front of the upright on top of
the gates. I like to get the slabnshad right in front of the
gate upright. I will say that I always look where I am
casting, but don't always cast where I'm looking, if the wind
is blowing a little, and it is a very long cast to the gate
upright. Anyway as I drug the ole slabnshad off the concrete
slab into the current, I got hit so I set back hard, wow what
a fight, knew I had a nice fish, but when I got it to the boat
I found out it was two 2nd year Hybrids 14 1/2 and 15 inches.
after a couple more tries I got another cast where I wanted it
drug it off the slab, bang another Hybrid this time 16 inches
Then another in the same size range and finally a 12 inch
White. I kept it up finally got another cast where I wanted
it, gave it a little pull, then felt the bump, Set back hard
again and the fight was on, I couldn't turn this fish, I knew
this was the largest Hybrid I had ever had on, what a battle
this had to be at least a new lake record. Finally I got this
fish up to the boat and got a look at it, A 5 lb buffalo foul
hooked in the tail. a little dissapointed but a lot of fun
anyway. by then it was about suppertime, so I gave up and
came in, not a big stringer but I had a good time. Keep
on Fishin'
