A few weeks ago a YEE HAW pulled out onto the highway and broadsided my boat. We just happened to have the same insurance company.
It did 10' of cap damage to the port side, knocked the fender down and ruined 2 tires as well as ripping rivets from the cap and side. They dinked around for a couple of weeks waiting for her to call them and she didn't and wouldn't return their calls.
I had to get a new ins. agent and have the highway patrol call the regional ins office to get them off center. I later found that the starboard side had damage which had to be from the collision but they won't fix it. They sent an adjuster who didn't even know what a boat cap was.
I don't know what to do except drop my 7 policies and find a new ins. company.

My new agent has just called and said that he had a boat knowledgeable guy who will call the glass shop and talk to Kelly P. who knows Champion boats inside and out.
Maybe, maybe, maybe.

Get it fixed, take it out to the lake and sink it. Call them back and say it sunk becuase they did not fix everything.
Get a new boat...... I'll do that if you will give me $35,000 above my replacement value.

i dont think karen wants to walk in on this claim since its already been started. SOunds like your agent has got a grip on it, by finding an adjuster with boat experience. if you need anything let me know and I will talk to Karen, if need be.

I hate to answer a question with another question, but here goes. Who was at fault in the accident? If it was the pther party, then you need to sue the driver of the other vehicle. This will do several things. The most important, is it will get the insurance company to move forward. At the same time file a claim against your boat insurance for the repairs and if they dont pay for the repairs within 30 days of filing the claim, sue them under Deceptive Trade Practices Act. This will cause your boat inssurance company to subrogate against the driver of the other vehicle provided they were at fault. Good luck!

Well STATE FARM called today. The at fault car policy will pay for the port side and my decuctible on the starboard side but not all so I have to file a claim less my deductible.
THAT IS WRONG.
