blew the transfer case yesterday in 5:00 LBJ traffic!
anyone rebuild or have a line on a rebuilt one?
it's an NP246 per the chevy house.
this one has cracked the housing so it's non usable.

Call Bishop in Dallas. All of the tranny shops will go there looking for a core.

how much fluid is going to fly out when i break the seal between the t case and the back of the tranny?

t case new from GM is 1300.00
rebuilt was 950.00 plus 300 core chg,so i guess i will just buy a new one!

drain the T-case first and you'll get less than a pint in your hair.
but that is supposed to be a dry zone, so if there's fluid in there,
replace the trans output shaft seal or it'll bite you in the a$$, guaranteed
