have fished around MCC, but I never have much luck. Could be that I'm just there at the wrong time. I was Bass fishing, not catfishing. Never have tried Cameron East.

Cameron Park actual has 2 concrete boat ramps, plus the one at MCC. One is right on the confluence of the Brazos and the Bosque. The other is downstream a short ways on a small pond off of the river. This pond is plainly visible in Google maps Satelite. This pond is shallow and has plenty of Shad (bait) in it. You can go downstream a few miles from here but there is a restriction against approaching the Brazos lake dam.
I tried to launch at Baylor one day and they would not let me.
You can go upstream quite a ways. Lake Brazos is long and skinny. The Brazos river upstream is reachable but it is quite a paddle from Cameron Park.
From the MCC launch site you can go upstream or downstream. The lake Waco Dam upstream is reachable. The area directly below the Lake Waco dam restricted zone can be good although snaggy.

I have had my best luck recently in the cove by the twin bridges park or put in off the end of barrett road and fish the middle bosque for black bass. Its always good to see a person from your home town chime in.
