For the most part that was a good enough fix,but for a guy who hasnt fished but maybe a dozen times this year.... that not too awful long ago was doing that much fishing every 3 to 4 weeks...I needed a bit more, grin I am very fortunate with having been a part of TFF and with my TNT Slabs business to have gotten the opportunity to meet lots of folks and have lots of invites to go fishing. I wish I could fish with everyone that has invited me, I appreciate all the opportunities. Day 2, hit Lake Texoma with Holzer and had a great time. We had a game plan based on information that we had put together from the reports on here and from short visits with folks from the forum. Thanks Mark Mac for the tips. Sorry kept missing you on the water JD, sure I will be catching up quite a bit my next go round up there next month. You read these reports and you think this should be pretty easy. Well, I guess at times it can be, but Sunday morning the topwater bite for us was rough, we picked at them with coho's though and covered a lot of water. Chad and I had a feeling that not slamming them that morning we might get a good shot at them in the afternoon. We picked up some things in the morning that worked out for us in the afternoon shift. The fish that we caught in the mornings were not right on the banks really I would say our fish were coming about 10-20ft off the banks. After nailing some Okie burgers we went to work. We started picking at the fish on the Texas banks and getting anywhere from 1-5 a stop. Then while working back towards the ramp,,,,,birds....and some small fish. Next batch of birds...small fish, and some nice overs, these fish were behind the islands. Not sure how many fish we caught on the day, had to be in the sixty range, landed about 15 overs. Cohos worked well for us, pencil poppers solid, you know if I am in the boat TNT 180's is going to be chunked,we used some big ones from 2oz to 2.5oz. Cloudy day, but that silver holo rocked. I know Holzer has some pics as well, but here is one of my slab fish on our last stop. Holzer did a good job keeping us in fish. Thanks for the invite Holzer, and thanks to Kelly for letting us make that full day out of it, and the hospitality. smile
Today thought why not go one more time....lol. Hit the home lake scrapped out some sandies and half dozen hybrids... guess what guys this blew my mind water temp here is 58 degrees, wow. Cloudy and no wind on this trip... I need to get back out there.

Bryon, glad to see that you have somewhat recovered from your “Texas Tour”. I too had a good time. Hope we can do it again soon.

It was a lure day of course, and we were on the search for “the big’n”. We caught fish all day. Most of them were not the fish we were looking for but we caught fish. We never landed “the big’n” but we still caught some good ones.

Like Bryon mentioned, catching wasn’t as easy as some of the reports here have made it out to be. But we just kept at it and moved when we needed to stay on fish. Can’t really say that one lure caught more fish than the other. But I can say as a whole the TNT 180 caught us more of the quality fish.

I can’t brag on it because I didn’t get the chance to land it but I had a BIG’N break away. That fish took me around my boat almost two times before it came off just under the boat. I had a good net man waiting for him to show his head but we just missed him. Like those other quality fish, that one was (almost) caught on a 2oz TNT 180.

These were the color of slabs we were using:

More pics:
I won the award for smallest fish of the day. Yes, that is a striper and not a gizzard shad.

Bryon caught a nice small mouth. And he won the award for ugliest fishing face.

We found a good school of these later in the day.
