I am trying to hook up the DVD player with the green, blue and red cables but when it plays I get a read screen that just scrolls from left to right? What would cause this?

I am not sure what that screen is.

If it is a progressive scan player you will have to switch the unit to progressive scan and select 480i or 480p.

You may also have to switch your TV's options too in the menu for video. And there might also be a selection for component video and not audio video. You need component input.

You probably already did all this, but it's what comes to mind.

the video board on the TV out? I wne t crazy with a blue ray, only to find the HDMI didnt work on a new TV.

check options, or input menu to change to the right imput for the device.

The component cable is capable of 1080, but the tv has to support it, most devices will set up with the right option for the TV

You have to change the TV on menu from Interlaced to Progressive

or vice versa. Also you MUST change it on your DVD player too!

My son had a SONY DVD that did the same thing. You have to

match the TV and the DVD to the same status when using the

Red Blue Green cables!!

It is working now. It was on progressive scan. I turned that off and it works fine.
