I am pleased to announce that we will be hosting a "preview" event of the new "Bass Pro Shop Solo-Bass Individual Tournament Series" at Lake Lewisville on Saturday November 7th.

The tournament will stage / launch from Lewisville Lake Park - Ramp # 2. The gates will open at 5:00am and the tournament will take-off at safe light with the weigh-in at 3:00pm.

This format is a "true individual" series for boaters only - no co-anglers.

Anglers may pre-register by sending a PM to Scott Gordon on the TFF, by email at sgbhs@yahoo.com, or by calling 214-801-2611. For angler wishing to register the morning of the tournament you may do so at the ramp.

Great question.....

There was alot of anglers asking about creating a new "true individual" series for "boaters" only with no co-angler draw. I was open to creating a series if there was a big enough demand. Based on the response, I decided to host a "preview" event will show the anglers that particpate on November 7th the quality of the tournaments that we host and what they have to look forward to come the new year when we will host a (5) tournament series. The series will feature one-day tournaments at Eagle Mountain, Lake Lewisville, Ray Roberts, Ray Hubbard and Texoma.

I apologize for having to schedule this on opening day of deer season, however I had to work with not conflicting with other scheduled events and other season ending championships. As always, we will have plenty of events to choose from in 2010!

Absolutely re: N/E Texas lakes provided there is enough interest. Give me a few suggestions on which lakes you would like to see.

I think LOP, Bob Sandlin, Palestine, Lake Tyler, Rayborn, T-Bend any of these would be good.

Really enjoyed fishing the Solo Bass Trail.

I'd like to fish another individual trail again.

One that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to enter and is on local lakes.

I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes, I wasn't aware of any other trail using the term "Solo-Bass". If so, I apologize and will change the name. I decided to start this series based on a tremendous amount of requests. If it is making folks upset then I can pull the plug before it even begins!

Scott, on LSB you sampled interest on a thread that the old Solo Bass trail was mentioned a few time so I assume you mean you are unaware of anyone using the name currently. I think Judd is pointing out the lack of originality is all. I admit for what ever reason it does touch a nerve with me that that name is being used but it really shouldn't. I sold it to Media after the first year, although I think I turned out a nice product and was a decent director in the end it wasn't for me and Media wanted to expand and purchased it. So really if Gordon protected it the name belongs to him not me, if its not protected then you have all the rights in the world to it. Good luck and name your trail what ever works for you if its a previously used name then so be it. Chris

I researched to see if there was any trail and/or organization that was using "Solo-Bass". I could not find anything so I thought it wasn't being used. I had no intention of using somebody elses name and/or ideas and if that is what it appears I have done then I apologize. I will change the title of this program and I apologize to you and to Media if I offended you. That was certainly not my intention.

Don't change it on my account or apologize for that matter its not owed at all. If you like the name Solo use it. It just wasn't original is all, and like I said it shouldn't bother me. Its a good niche to fill it worked back then and it will work again I am sure.

I appreciate your comment, and please know that I was not trying to take away from your efforts. I would have been a little upset as well had I seen someone using a name that I had come up with for another trail. I want to respect you and Media and will remain with my decision to change the name. I like the idea of having the anglers recommend it!

From now until our preview event on November 7th, give me some ideas on some names that we could title this series with. I had to be flexible to try and avoid conflicts with other trails. In addition, we have a lot of anglers that can fish only one of the weekend days so splitting them up is the best thing to please all.

Remember - NO MEMBERSHIP FEE and LOW ENTRY FEES!

Can't make the Lewisville Preview on the 7th, but I really like the look of your Series. I went to your website, am I correct that the next date in the Series is not until Feb 2010? I may be wrong, not sure. Can you clarify?

Yes please stop , We cant catch fish this way. They will just not bite anything. We tried everything yesterday

From past experiance they will slow it down when it is a foot from normal pool. Probably middle of next week.

Im curious to how accurate the update is only because the flow rate and pool level is exactly where its been all week. I know there is probably still some run off coming in but i just would have thought the pool level would have change a bit.

It has dropped about a foot since they had the gates open. They were pulling almost 5400 cfs just a few days ago now it is down to just under 4800 cfs so they are slowing it down a little.

2 weeks ago, a tournament with 20+ boats, over half the field never showed up at weigh in if that tells u anything! we weighed 1 fish for almost 2 #'s and was first out of the $$.

Are we still going to Lake Park ramp 2? It looked like it was closed yesterday. I dont know for sure but if it is the ramps south of Sneaky Petes it looked flooded.

Take the highway 407 Justin Rd Exit. Turn right at the light and go over the bridge then left at the light. Go to stop sign and go strait and make your 1st left towards the ramp.

Tomorrows the day....weather is going to be awesome, Skip from BSG is coming out with some good deals on some boat wraps. Everyone come on out. Fishing is going to be a little tough but just put the trolling motor and and start grinding.

Dillard, the tournament next weekend is Off Limits to you and BJ. Read the fine print, it clearly states (Brandon Dillard and BJ Gammons are not permitted to fish this event). LOL
