Have you had any diagnostics done? Check you Mass airflow and or map sensors too...after thought. sorry......you can check them with a multi-meter...repair manual will give specifications, so will the dealer......

mileage is up somewhere near 200K Ive had it 3 yrs and only thing that has been replaced on it has been a distributor cap and the intake mani. along with normal tune-ups. once i changed the cap out it ran fine for about 100miles maybe and then just DIED.

Do you have a digital VOM and know how to use it?

Have you checked the fuel pressure regulator yet? If your pressure is not up to par, that could be a major problem. Have you checked on the timing? When you replaced the cap, did you replace the rotor? They work in conjunction with each other...never replace one without the other. A really dumb question here, have you checked fuses for the ignition system yet? On that model, I believe there are 2 ....trying to help, without taking it into a shop... Keep us posted, there is a way around this, just keep us posted, it is doable...... Another dumb question, how does the inside of your tailpipe look? Does it have a lot of "fresh" carbon buildup? If you can take your finger, and rub it around the pipe, and it comes away with a very , and I do mean very, good coating of carbon buildup, it points more to the regualator. Too much gas, not eanough air for the mixture...How do the plugs look? If they also have a lot of carbon....you know where this is going.....
