Where the best place for a newbie to learn to tie, and learn tools and materials needed. Need another hobby since i am giving up pool playing, reloading and shooting for a while. Since I only fish 2-3 times a week I need another hobby for the other days smile

Rodney, Go to YouTube and type in crappie jig tying. Get some ideas, try them, then either get ahold of RadTexan (in Lubbock) or if you want to come to Snyder either of us will help you with some tips. Once you get the basics down, your imagination is your only limit. (Maybe your pocket book, too!)

I'll be glad to help and I know Roger (Rad) would, too.

This post is a couple weeks old Hotmod has helped me a ton and I have meet both Butch and Roger! Great guys! I have been watching the youtube vids bought a couple fly tying books so I am starting to get on track smile I appreciate all your help all yall are a great bunch of guys. Sandwich Maker may have to pick your brain sometime if I get in a bind!!!

The best resource I think is just get after it. I still have never watched someone else tye a jig. That may be why I don't do it very well. I have watched a few u tube videos but that is it. Sandwich maker gave me some advice on painting pony head jigs and that was very helpful. So I suggest go for it.

We've got to figure out a way to get Tony posting some pics of what he can do !!
Some of the finest jigs Ive ever seen.
