Ok gotta call Josh out on something that's been bothering me. Eeveryone notice the hand near the anal fin in his pics? The way he's holding the fish his finger can never slip into the bunghole on accident, or like Donny on purpose! He's missing a rite of passage in carping! Sexy venue and some nice healthy looking fish in good numbers. That's Carp brigade pioneering right there.

Thanks for the replys everyone, the trip was a lot of fun, at first it was very slow but once i got them chummed in i was getting a run every 15 mins or so. Smile n nod i dont have a scale so i took length and girth measurements and calculated the weight of the biggest to be 13.8 lbs. Jeff the campsite number was 28 and we were extremely lucky to get it, by noon ALL the campsites were full. SSF i was wondering how long it was going to take before someone called me out on how i hold my fish, but your exactly right my fear is my finger slipping in somewhere its not supposed to go, lol.

Nice looking fish.
Some of those fish have *massive* barbels.

True. I don't think I've ever seen 'em that long on a non-koi. Great fish Josh!

Pulled off a two day trip ... Took me a little while to figure out ...., scopex boilies and maize lots and lots of maize. .
So that idea of mine to dump 100lbs of corn with 20pounds of boilies BEFORE a week fishing was not so bad afterall...

I thought the same thing about the barbels when i saw them, pretty much every fish had barbels like that, must be something in thiers genes in that lake.
Leo i actually got the massive pre-bait technique from a Korda video, i put out a lot of bait with no lines in the water to get the fish feeding comfortably with out being spooked. Then i casted out my rods as the sun went down and it worked, they were in a competitive feeding mode that let their guard down and were more easily hooked.

barbels is spelled barbules
I am not trying to be a spelling tart. Believe me when I say that I have my own spelling issues. Its just that I went a loooong time not knowing that this is how it is spelled and I was very surprised to learn it. I thought y'all might like to know too.
