Hello all,

I live in Nebraska and have never cast a fly into the salt before. However, my family vacationed on Galveston several times when i was young adn my father has a very good friend there that he still visits from time to time. My family is planning a trip down to galveston to visit friends and do a little fishing. I would love to try my hand at fly fishing in the salt. Ideally, most of my fishing would be done by wading, and probably for trout or redfish ( I am very flexible on this). What I would like to know is what flies to bring(both color combinations and patterns, I tie my own so any links to patterns would be helpful), what weight rod you would suggest, leader and tippet combinations for salt water, and anything else that you might think of that could be helpful. the trip looks like it's probably going to happen in september or october of next year.
