Lufkinmike I camped in the park at Fairfield from Monday thru Thursday. Thanks to Dewayne, I had a fantastic trip. I limited out Wednesday and Thursday in a couple of hours each morning with the largest fish weighing 16 lbs. I will post more on Monday with pictures and share my experience with Dewayne. He is one of the nicest guy's I have ever met.

Thinking I'll probably be there tomorrow am. Will this front that came through turn 'em off?

Man I would love to hook up with a Red. Just tell me what I need to do and I will try it.

Just fish for them pretty much like you fish for catfish but use a little heavier line. Throw castnet at boat ramp to catch small (3"-4")tilapia for bait and get after it. Fairly simple procedure really.

Thanks. I have been there numerous times bass fishing but never really tried to catch a Red.

If you like casting cranks and lipless cranks....give it a try at fairfield..just up your tackle a bit..I use like 7 1/2 or 8 ft swim bait gear and 30lb braid on a 300 series baitcaster...don't be afraid of big cranks..I love the magnum xrap deep diver 15...just my $0.02.

My neighbor went saturday and came back with a box full of reds. Was kind enough to share his bounty. Went home with 3 of the biggest dang fish, we are going to have us a fishy fry!!!
Smoke on!
